Most dogs have 1) the physical dog, and 2) its non-physical brain present. Think of it as a mountaintop metaphor with two boulders.
Only one can be in charge at any time.
The physical dog doesn’t think. The physical dog is the reflex, reacting with out thinking—like when the doctor hits your knee and your leg twitches.

The more orderly brain, at the lower energy level and relaxed state, the thoughtful brain, that’s what does its thinking. The dog
