Traditional Training Foundation
Traditional training and traditional trainers don’t assess the dog‘s background, energy level, behavioral baggage, or unwanted behavioral evidence. They immediately being efforts to change the package we call the dog. Traditional trainers are typically trying to engage the brain at a dog’s high energy level. However, a dog’s high energy levels preclude its brain from connecting during the training process. Furthermore, traditional training models don’t address the internal makeup of the package we call the dog into component parts like RDL does with its three distinct parts to every dog..
We’ve also been told not to make eye contact with dogs, that eye contact triggers aggression in dogs, while it’s been my experience that until the thing causing the aggression—if it’s even present at all—until that aggression-causing thing is addressed and the lower energy levels are established, there’s little advantage in engaging the overall dog to engage. The lower energy has to be established first. Progress isn’t attained when working with a high energy dog, since that’s when Nature, Nature's physical dog, and Nature’s wild mind is present.

If the dog‘s energy level is high, the physical dog is present, its non-physical brain is not present, therefore training would be ineffective since it’s the brain‘s presence that determines the effectiveness of the training sessions.
RDL, Reflective Dog Leadership first assesses the dog‘s energy level, assesses the dog‘s background, works with an awareness of the dog‘s behavioral issues, first getting the dog to be relaxed and submissive. Only then does the training of the human begin through education.
