BABY TALK—STOP USING IT WITH YOUR DOG

With dogs, don’t use baby talk. Don’t—just don’t—and don’t shoot the messenger.

We’re going down quite a series of rabbit holes—stick with it!

  1. High energy dogs are the dogs that have the problems.
  2. High energy dogs have problems because Nature’s in charge.
  3. “Nature’s in charge” means the dog reacts reflexively
  4. A dog’s reflexive responses happen seemingly to everything.
  5. Low energy dogs are the dogs that *DON’T* have problems.
  6. Low energy dogs have their brains present and in control.
  7. Low energy dogs *DON’T* have Nature in charge.
  8. Low energy dogs don’t have the problems.
  9. Baby talk is high energy. (Which dogs are the dogs that have those problems again?)
  10. We unconsciously reward with praise.[1]
  11. Praise is higher pitch and higher energy.
  12. Baby talk is always offered at a higher pitch and higher energy.
  13. We unconsciously reward with high pitch baby talk.
  14. Praise *RAISES* energy levels.
  15. Baby talk *RAISES* energy levels.
  16. Which dogs have the problems? The high energy dogs.
  17. Why are we rewarding with praise, raising their energy levels?
  18. Why are we using baby talk, raising their energy levels?
  19. Why do we motivate with higher rather than lower energy?
  20. Stop using baby talk.
  21. Stop rewarding with praise.
  22. Start using silence and non-verbal communication.
  23. Start rewarding with *SUBMISSION,* not with praise.
  24. Submission is lower energy.
  25. Submission is sleep—it’s sleep with a leader nearby.
  26. “True Submission” can result in “True Socialization.”
  27. “True Socialization” is different from “traditional socialization.”
  28. “True Socialization” needs its own chapter, book, and movie.

If you find yourself reading the points above and wanting to argue, ”Well, yeah, but…” it’s not worth it. It’s not worth having that friendly discussion. It’s really simple to come to this parting of the ways:

  1. If you agree, great—let’s discuss it more.
  2. If you disagree, great, feel free to walk away—no hard feelings.

I’m not in it to convince others. I’m in it to find who agrees with me and who wants to learn more about what Nature’s all about. It’s not worth my trying to convince anyone otherwise. It’s not worth anyone’s effort to try to convince me otherwise. If there’s something to learn that Nature is the source for, then I’ll listen, otherwise, I won’t.

How RDL Is Different from the Way Most People Think about Training

Training is never for “the dog,” although many traditional trainers, veterinarians, owners, and walkers still claim that it’s the dog that gets fixed. It’s the dog that’s changed. It’s the dog whose behaviors are modified.

Those Old School ways are dead. A new paradigm is needed. A different paradigm is being offered. RDL model’s its approach after Nature, after Nature’s models, and after Nature’s programming that’s programmed into every dog.[2]

In the new paradigm, the human gets trained, the human learns, and the human starts the first step in the process of the change of behavior.

Humans have English, with words and sentences. Dogs have behaviors and sequences of behaviors. Since dogs communicate behaviorally, once the human learns a new concept and their behaviors change, that newly changed human behavior changes the content of the behaviors with their dog. Then, out of necessity and common sense, the dogs response must change. What we used to think of as “the dog gets changed,” can be viewed as “the human is having a different conversation with their dog.”

Respectfully submitted.

[1] A Pandora’s box in itself, being conscious or unconscious of something is a paradoxically impossible discussion to have with anybody. Nonetheless, it paradoxically is central to a key number of silent but critical factors, which, although they must be acknowledged, examined, and evaluated, they regularly remain usaddressed.

Guess where a significant portion of the foundational problem or problems, plural, exist!

[2] Interestingly, one program—the same program and DNA sequence—is already programmed into every dog. “Custom training programs” or “Custom rehabilitation programs” are unnecessary.

Customized rehabilitation programs or customized training programs cause more problems. They cause problems because “custom programs” by definition differ from Nature’s programming that’s already programmed into every dog. Nature demands Her program be the one that gets followed and *IS* followed.

As we already know, Nature always wins.
