My dog training and leadership method, Reflective Dog Leadership works, and works well remotely, via video app. There are Yelp reviews available online from my remotely trained clients. My current, remote clients includes Los Angeles, the UK, and the Canary Islands. <tiny.cc/TDTYelpReviews> <tiny.cc/TDTMoreYelpReviews>
The owners have to be committed, and the owners have to be open to change, since a lot of what causes problems with dogs comes from old and outdated training methods that don’t work, and frankly, have never worked. If an owner thinks I can press a button and fix the dog, that’s not a client I’ll be able to work with.
If the owner doesn’t have time to work with me, and if the owner doesn’t have time to work with their dog for one to two hours per day for the first week, in addition to the time requirements for the first virtual visit and the return, virtual visit one week later, then that’s not a client I’ll be able to work with.
It depends on the owner, the owner’s awareness, the owner’s commitment, and the amount of time the owner makes available to start that change. If the commitment isn’t present, it’s not going to work. If the time isn’t invested, it isn’t going to work. Success in the relationship between the owner and the dog has far less to do with me, the trainer, and has almost everything to do with the owner. Old School believes it’s all about the trainer, but it’s not. Old School believes it’s all about the dog, but it’s not. New School knows better.
It’s almost always all about the owner.
